ABOUT

In such a violent society as ours, with its upside down value scale, vulgarity, hypocrisy and ignorance have replaced virtues. Under these circumstances, Shakespeare’s play, As You Like It, is highly relevant. The need to escape in a peaceful place, where we can go back to the true spiritual and cultural values, has become a must, in this aggressive and globally tensioned world of ours. As You Like It can be perceived as a show about suffering and healing through art and love. There are several levels and themes that are intertwined: Rosalinda and Orlando’s love story, which is the main binder, the theme of art and love as means of salvation for the characters, against the background of the Court’s violent and vulgar environment, the magic universe of the Forest of Arden. The Court society is dying, and the future is insecure. Art and love provide a deep meaning to the protagonists’ escape, and they bring in the shadow of hope.
